Oscar Durán joined the institution in January 2022, where he currently serves as Head of the Institutional Relations and Communication Unit. Previously, he had a 20-year career at the Mexican central bank, Banco de México, where he served as institutional liaison, special counsel to the Governing Board, institutional liaison manager, director of institutional liaisons and director of Institutional Liaisons and Communication. More recently, he was responsible for directing Central bank’s institutional relations with the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the Mexican federal government, autonomous independent government bodies, the business sector, academia, the media and opinion leaders. He also worked as Head of the Office of the Undersecretary of Legislative Liaisons of the Ministry of the Interior.
Oscar has a master's in Business Law from the University of Alcalá de Henares, a certificate in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), and a master’s in Economics and Public Policy from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), as well as took the Executive Management Program of the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE) of the Pan-American University. He also has a certificate in Public Relations, Social Media and Crisis Management from ITESM.
He has taught courses on Banking and Stock Market Law and Business Contracts at the Law School of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and has two publications by Editorial Porrúa.
