Utility Management Institute (UMI) 2024-2025 Public Management Leadership Program

Program: Units and Hours
The Program consists of 6 units focused on improving the managerial skills of mid-level officials in public institutions. These units constitute 72 hours of training with experts in their respective fields. These 72 hours are broken down into 24 three-hour sessions. All sessions will be transmitted with simultaneous interpretation into English and Spanish.

1. NADBank, an Innovative Entity: Who We Are and What We Do = 3 hours
2a. Planning in Public Entities =12 hours
2b. Identification and Prioritization of Environmental Issues = 3 hours
3a. Financial Management and Administration =15 hours
3b. NADBank Rate Models for Water Utilities = 3 hours
4. Organizational Structure of Public Entities = 12 hours
5. Management and Leadership = 12 hours
6. Innovation and Creating Public Value in Government Actions = 12 hours

Who can enroll?
The program is designed for public officials, mid-level and higher, who are involved in providing public services. It is open to interested participants from any public institution and sector, as well as independent consultants.

The main focus of UMI is the border region located within 100 km (62 miles) north of the border in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas and within 300 km (186 miles) south of the border in the states of Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon y Tamaulipas.

Participants will learn about relevant and innovative topics, have the opportunity to interact with other professionals and specialists and be able to review case studies to identify best practices.

When it starts and how long is each session?
The program begins October 24, 2024, and ends May 8, 2025.All sessions will be presented on Thursdays from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, CDT.

Does the program have a cost?
There will be no cost for participants.
