Seven new environmental projects with total investment of US$386 million approved by NADB Board of Directors

San Antonio, Texas – The Board of Directors of the North American Development Bank (NADB) announced the approval of US$168 million in financing for seven new projects in the sectors of water and renewable energy that will benefit more than 1.23 million residents in communities on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. The Board also appointed Dr. Calixto Mateos-Hanel as Managing Director of the NADB. Dr. Mateos-Hanel will serve in this capacity through December 31, 2023.

Border 2020 Program Region 6 Request for Proposals 2019

The North American Development Bank (NADB) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for projects in the New Mexico-Texas-Chihuahua and Texas-Coahuila-Nuevo Leon-Tamaulipas border regions. The projects selected under this RFP will meet the goals and objectives of the Border 2020 U.S.-Mexico Environmental Program, which was established with the mission to protect the environment and public health in the U.S.-Mexico border region.

Tour to review construction progress of wastewater infrastructure in Camargo, Tamaulipas

Camargo, Tamaulipas – Officials today toured the wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure works currently under construction in Camargo, Tamaulipas. The project is expected to cost an estimated US$3.4 million and will benefit 8,819 residents in this border community.

Work begins to install residential sewer connections in Loma Blanca, Chihuahua

Loma Blanca, Chihuahua. – In the presence of Chihuahua Governor Javier Corral Hurtado and Dr. Calixto Mateos-Hanel, Acting Managing Director of the North American Development Bank (NADB), work began to install residential sewer connections funded by NADB in the community of Loma Blanca, in the municipality of Juarez, Chihuahua.

NADB publishes Green Bond Impact Report

San Antonio, Texas. - The North American Development Bank (NADB) has published the impact results of its first green bond, issued in 2018.  The bond’s total net proceeds of US$126.4 million were used to finance or refinance six renewable energy projects in the U.S.-Mexico border region.

The North American Development Bank provides $2.91 million in loan and grant financing for landfill expansion project in Maverick County, Texas

Maverick County, Texas. - The North American Development Bank (NADB) and Maverick County have signed loan and grant agreements totaling $2.91 million to support a project for the expansion of El Indio Municipal Solid Waste Facility (MSWF) that serves the entire county. The project will benefit all 54,258 residents by providing additional capacity to continue managing the proper disposal of approximately 150 tons of solid waste a day.

Project to continue rehabilitation of Tijuana’s “Colector Poniente” to receive US $2.42 million grant

Coronado, California – The North American Development Bank (NADB) and the local water utility, Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Tijuana (CESPT) have signed a US$2.42 million grant agreement to continue the rehabilitation of a deteriorated section of the collector main “Colector Poniente”, located in the northwestern area of the city of Tijuana, and to help reduce transboundary wastewater flows affecting the Cali-Baja region.
