NADB approves water projects and signs air quality agreement

During its first meeting of 2021 held this morning online, the Board of Directors of the North American Development Bank (NADB) approved three new projects in the water sector that represent a total investment of US$8.26 million. The first project is a drinking water distribution system for the Hillcrest Subdivision in El Paso County, Texas, which will receive a US$1.6 million grant from the Border Environment Infrastructure Fund (BEIF), which is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and administered by NADB. The second project is a wastewater collection system extension and improvements for Doña Ana County, New Mexico, which will receive US$2.15 million in BEIF grant funding. The last project is located in Camargo, Chihuahua and will extend the wastewater collection system with a US$500,000 grant through the Bank’s Community Assistance Program (CAP).

NADB takes part in $216.1 million financing to support the construction of 200 MW solar park in Webb County, Texas

The North American Development Bank (NADB), along with a syndicate of three other lenders, and global renewable energy developer BayWa r.e. signed a credit agreement for up to $216.1 million to finance the design, construction, and operation of the 200 MWAC Corazon Solar Project, located on nearly 2,000 acres of private land in Webb County, Texas. NADB is participating with a $62.9 million loan and served as coordinating lead arranger on the transaction.

NADB and Lower Valley Water District sign $500,000 grant agreement

San Antonio, Texas – U.S. Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) announced a $500,000 grant signing between the North American Development Bank (NADB) and the Lower Valley Water District (LVWD) to support a wastewater project in the Rosa Azul subdivision in Socorro, TX. This new system will provide first-time access to wastewater services that will help prevent exposure to untreated or inadequately treated discharges for more than 900 residents.

In 2021, Fitch Affirms North American Development Bank at 'AA'; Outlook Stable

Fitch Ratings has affirmed The North American Development Bank's Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at 'AA' and Short-Term IDR at 'F1+'. The issue ratings on NADB's senior unsecured bonds are also affirmed at 'AA'. The Outlook on the Long-Term IDR is Stable.

Nogales, AZ Wastewater Project marks completion

North American Development Bank (NADB) and the City of Nogales, Arizona hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of improvements for the Peña Blanca subdivision wastewater system. The project will help improve the operational efficiency of the wastewater system and eliminate the risk of untreated or inadequately treated wastewater discharges to Potrero Creek.

NADB supporting Maverick County, City of Presidio & Ojinaga Water Utility

Along the entire U.S.-Mexico border, the North American Development Bank (NADB) works with border communities to develop and finance infrastructure projects that improve the environment and health conditions. With the onset of COVID-19 and its increasing effects on these communities, the NADB Board of Directors established a temporary program to support communities dealing with the economic, health, and social impacts of the pandemic (“ProRec”). Through this program, two Texas border communities will be able to refinance existing debt while a third in Chihuahua will benefit from a US$1 million grant to improve wastewater collection infrastructure.

John Beckham appointed new Deputy Managing Director at the North American Development Bank

The North American Development Bank (NADB) has hired John Beckham, with more than 20 years of experience in executive leadership positions in banking, business and strategic planning, as its new Deputy Managing Director. Mr. Beckham was appointed by the NADB Board of Directors after a national search and competitive selection process.
