San Antonio, Texas. – The North American Development Bank (NADB) and the local water utility, Sistema Municipal de Agua y Saneamiento de Piedras Negras (SIMAS) in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, signed a US$218,400 grant agreement for wastewater system improvements that will prevent up to 2.3 million gallons per day (mgd) of untreated wastewater discharges into the Rio Grande.
First project supported by NADB in the sector of public transportation. Project will initially finance 100 buses manufactured by DINA Camiones.
Victoria, Tamaulipas. – On Thursday, the Utility Management Institute (UMI) of the North American Development Bank (NADB), in coordination with Latin American and Caribbean water center, Centro del Agua para América Latina y el Caribe (CDA), of the Monterrey Technological Institute, ITESM, initiated a two-day intensive seminar on “How to Implement Rates Successfully” for 14 water utilities in Tamaulipas.
Holtville, California. – The North American Development Bank (NADB) and the City of Holtville, California, have signed a US$3.56 million grant to rehabilitate and upgrade the city’s wastewater treatment plant, which will improve the quality of water discharged to the Salton Sea and other local waterways.

The purpose of the course developed and presented by the Latin American and Caribbean water center, Centro del Agua para América Latina y el Caribe (CDA) of the Monterrey Technological Institute (ITESM), is to provide information on the principal desalination processes as a means of increasing available water supplies from a business point of view.
Electricity generated by this plant will be acquired by CPS Energy of San Antonio, Texas.

Within the framework of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) and the North American Development Bank (NADB) held on May 8th in Mexico City, the Board of Directors of the two institutions approved the certification and financing of a wastewater collection rehabilitation project in Piedras Negras, Coahuila.
